What a game that was. A perfect example of end to end attacking match, filled with many near misses and surprising moments. PSG vs Atalanta did not disappoint. It lived up to its hype and probably was this champions league tightest game. Let’s assess the various talking points of the three-goal thriller that made PSG qualify for the semi-finals for the first time since 1995.

A cool shot into the top left corner left the Paris goalkeeper clueless and PSG was on the brink of another collapse. Atalanta held their philosophy of attacking football. They refused to sit back and defend. There were many moments in the match where they could have done the job. But it was PSG’s night and Atalanta didn’t create enough chances in the second half which cost them the game.

 3 minutes into the match and Neymar had the opportunity of a lifetime to make a difference. As the minutes passed by, more and more opportunities fell onto Neymar who failed to capitalise. As the most expensive player on the planet, this was not expected of him. Let’s hope he plays better in the coming days.

No substitute had a major impact as that of Kylian Mbappe.  The sensational 21-year-old provided the assist to Eric Maxim Chopu Moting to win the game for PSG. His form will be crucial to PSG Champions League ambitions.
