It was 18th Of January 2018 when the Brazilian sensation had moved in Barcelona. Since then it has just been a roller coaster for the young midfielder. Transferred at a huge amount of 142million euros, Coutinho was supposed to be a perfect replacement for Neymar, who had left the club in 2018. Now, after being loaned to Bayern in his second season at Barcelona, it seems that the magician has still been unable to show his magic.
The stats do the speaking:
During his career at Liverpool Coutinho scored 41 goals and delivered 35 assists in 141 appearances with a goal ratio of 0.27 while playing from midfield.
At Barcelona, his goal ratio dropped drastically as he could score just 13 goals in 38 appearances, leaving a huge gap for Barcelona in search of a Neymar replacement.
Although his stay at Bayern Munich has been short, he could still get 8 goals in 15 appearances making fans wonder if he would be permanently transferred from Barcelona.
But the latest news around the corner has revealed that in a statement by Coutinho’s manager, the Brazilian has requested for a move back to premier league just so he can get back to his original gameplay.
A move back to Barcelona would be really irrelevant.
Looking at Premier league, Chelsea which is now pursuing young talent Kai Havertz look too busy to give a glance at Coutinho, but the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal still linger over.
Could he reunite with Klopp at Liverpool?
Speaking of the Brazilian’s former club Liverpool, in a recent statement, Jurgen Klopp did reveal that the team was eyeing to tighten their ship with a few signings but was adamant that it was a difficult time to sign players in regards with clubs financial status.
The fact that Firmino has been struggling to bag goals at Anfield can become an inlet for Coutinho who could still replace him or play along side.
There have been rumours that Reportedly, Coutinho is expected to apologise to his former club for leaving the club back then.
Phillipe Countinho to Liverpool wont be a gamble
Although Liverpool could win the league titles, but their knockout from the Champions league was bitter and unexpected.
Football Pundits believe that Coutinho still might be the missing link at Liverpool if we see the midfield muddle in Liverpool right now, which might make them unable to score goals ahead.
All we can do is wait to see where the Brazilian lands!
